Key Features of the Mactronic Vaya Headlamp

DSS (Dual Source System)

A significant advantage of the VAYA is its Dual Source System (DSS). For everyday use, you can rely on the efficient Li-Po battery, conveniently rechargeable via the USB-C port. When you don’t have access to electricity, switch to standard 3 × AAA batteries. This solution ensures the headlamp won’t let you down even during long trips where every hour of light matters.

IPX8 Waterproof Rating

A compact yet extremely robust housing with an IPX8 waterproof rating protects the VAYA against full immersion in water (up to 1,5 m for up to 1 h). This makes the headlamp dependable in heavy rain, mud, or water crossings. It is a practical tool for hiking and outdoor sports, as well as for professional use where equipment reliability is essential.

Lightweight and Comfortable Design

Weighing only 85 grams, the VAYA puts virtually no strain on your head. Its lightweight, well-balanced design ensures comfort even during long hours of use, while the adjustable headband allows it to fit a wide range of users.

Light to Match Your Needs

  • SPOT WHITE – a focused long-range beam, ideal for outdoor observation.
  • FLOOD WHITE – a wide, diffused beam for close-range tasks, reading maps, or preparing equipment.
  • COMBO – a mode combining both beams, providing maximum brightness and a wide field of view.
  • Red light – in constant mode it preserves natural night vision, and in flashing mode it works as a signalling light, improving visibility after dark. This is especially useful during night hikes, camping, or emergencies.

Why Choose the Mactronic VAYA?

  • Maximum light output of 480 lumens and three white-light modes – this output level provides reasonable beam distance and comfortable area illumination without the extreme power consumption typical of high-intensity flashlights.
  • Constant and flashing red light – helps preserve night vision because it interferes with dark adaptation less than white LEDs, letting your eyes adjust more quickly after switching it off.
  • Dual Source System (DSS) – lets you use the rechargeable battery for everyday use and easily swap to readily available 3 × AAA batteries when the Li-Po runs out, without needing a wall outlet or a power bank.
  • USB-C port – supports higher charging currents, allowing the headlamp to charge much faster than with older micro USB standards.
  • IPX8 waterproof housing – the headlamp is designed for extended submersion in water up to 1,5 m for up to 1 h.
  • Advanced Dimming System (ADS) – smooth brightness control provides better user comfort, precise light adjustment, and significantly longer battery life.
  • Motion sensor – allows switching the headlamp on and off with a simple hand wave, without searching for a small button. A significant advantage when your hands are occupied, dirty, or when wearing gloves (car repairs, workshop tasks, construction, camping).
  • Lightweight (85 g) – its weight fits well within the recommended range for sports models (under 100 g), helping reduce bouncing and strap movement.

SAFETY GUIDELINES

Safety Guidelines for Lighting Products

Safe Product Usage

  1. Use the product only as intended and follow the user manual instructions.
  2. Adhere to the recommended handling and maintenance guidelines to ensure proper operation.
  3. This product is not designed for use by children. Keep small components (e.g., batteries, accessories) out of their reach to prevent accidental ingestion or choking.

Operating and Storage Conditions

  1. Operate the product within a temperature range of -4°F to 104°F (-20°C to +40°C).
  2. Avoid exposing the product to direct sunlight, moisture, strong vibrations, solvents, chemical fumes, or other aggressive substances.
  3. Please do not use the product in explosive atmospheres unless it has appropriate certifications, such as ATEX.
  4. Please exercise caution when charging and connecting the device to the electrical network.
  5. When installing the device in a vehicle, use insulated terminals and protect the installation with a fuse.
  6. Activate the product with a transport lock during storage or transport.

Safe Handling of the Product

  1. Do not cover the product while in operation, as this may cause overheating and increase the fire risk.
  2. If the product overheats, turn it off or reduce the brightness mode to allow it to cool down.
  3. Avoid wearing headbands, wrist straps, cords, or other product components around the neck.
  4. Do not use the product as a tool, except for flashlights designed with an emergency glass-breaking function.

LEDs

  1. Never look directly into the light beam. LEDs may emit radiation classified as RG-2 according to IEC 62471, which can be harmful to the eyes.
  2. Do not direct the light onto the face, skin, or other sensitive surfaces. LED radiation in the 400–780 nm range can damage the retina or cause irreversible changes.
  3. Strobe or flashing light modes may trigger seizures in individuals with photosensitive epilepsy.

Batteries and Accumulators

  1. Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, heat, or incinerate batteries/accumulators.
  2. Do not use batteries and accumulators simultaneously or mix batteries of different brands or new and old ones. Use only batteries and accumulators compatible with the device.
  3. Charge accumulators only with dedicated chargers, within temperatures of 32°F to 104°F (0°C to +40°C).
  4. Never charge disposable batteries.
  5. Keep batteries and accumulators out of reach of children. If a battery, especially a button cell, is swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
  6. Regularly recharge accumulators if the product is unused for extended periods (at least once every 3 months).
  7. For prolonged storage, remove batteries/accumulators to prevent leakage.

Weapon-Mounted Lighting

  1. Ensure the firearm is unloaded and the action is open when installing, cleaning, or maintaining the flashlight.
  2. Activate the flashlight only with the non-trigger hand while holding the gun securely with both hands.
  3. Take precautions to prevent accidental discharges.

Area Lighting

  1. Always deploy stabilizing supports when raising the lighting mast above 3.3 feet (1 meter).
  2. Do not direct the light source onto flammable surfaces during operation to avoid heat accumulation and fire hazards.

Disposal

  1. Dispose of lighting products, batteries, and accumulators by local electronic waste regulations.
  2. The crossed-out trash bin symbol indicates the obligation for separate disposal to prevent environmental pollution and facilitate material recovery.
  3. For products containing heavy metals: mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), relevant chemical symbols are displayed below the bin symbol.
  4. You can return used devices and batteries free of charge at local collection points or stores with appropriate sales areas (per EU regulations).

Additional Precautions

  1. Products containing permanent magnets may pose risks to individuals with pacemakers. Always maintain a safe distance from such components.
